An internship gives you the opportunity to find out more about a role or company that interests you. It can be for a few weeks or a longer period of time. It can give you a real insight into the business and the chance to meet people who might be able to help you with your future career path.

An internship enables you to apply and demonstrate the transferable skills you've gained - in most cases by working on a specific project. But because it doesn't have to be in an area related to your course, it's also a great opportunity to try out something new. If you are going to do something different, just make sure you are really interested in it and enthusiastic about the opportunity.
