Student Employee of the Year (SEOTY)

The Student Employee of the Year award is organised and promoted by the National Association of Student Employment Services (NASES). SEOTY is designed to "recognise the outstanding contributions and achievements of students who effectively combine part-time work with their study commitments". It also rewards the employers who provide great opportunities for students. The competition is divided into local, regional and national awards.  Every year, Universities across the UK compete to encourage employers to nominate students working in paid part-time jobs.

At Sheffield Hallam there is a annual event to celebrate student employment. Sheffield Hallam winners go on to enter the regional and national competitions - with a chance to be crowned UK Student Employee of the Year.

Nominations are made in the following categories:

  • Above And Beyond
  • Commercial Impact
  • Employer
  • Job Shop
  • Step up to Leadership

If you work part-time, you could be next years winner. It doesn't matter if you worked on or off campus, just that you have made an impact with your employer, and don't forget you can nominate them as Employer of the Year too!
