Meet our students on campus

Sheffield Hallam University provide a range of opportunities for you to engage with our students and graduates throughout the year to raise the profile of your organisation and the opportunities you have available. You can meet students from your target disciplines on-campus at a variety of recruitment events.  Due to the current Covid 19 situation we are also preparing for potential virtual events also.

The Hallam Careers Fair 28th October 2020: our flagship careers fair and biggest event of the year. This is a multi-disciplinary fair spanning 6 different venues across campus and attracting over 2000 students. Book your stand now.

The Natural & Built Environment Careers Day 21st October 2020: a day packed with workshops and an employer careers fair for students and graduates wanting to explore careers in the natural & built environment sector. Express your interest now.

Spotlight on……. We run a programme of smaller and industry-focused events throughout the Autumn and Spring semester, these events are free to attend with an opportunity to sponsor the event and provide pizza for the students. Topics have included, STEM Careers, Careers with a Conscience, Working with Numbers and Public Sector Careers.

Employer presentations: you can come onto campus and deliver a presentation to students and graduates about your organisation and opportunities. We restrict the weeks we are able to offer these sessions to maximise attendance and they would typically be lunchtime or twilight sessions. These sessions are sometimes more suitable for larger and more well-known organisations.

Workshops and skills sessions: delivering a skills session or workshop to students is a valuable way to raise the profile of your organisation whilst meeting a pipeline of great candidates. Skills sessions can often get a bigger audience and can help to get great students through your recruitment processes. Previous topics have included, Psychometric tests, How to write a successful application and STAR interview techniques.

Recruiting on campus: if you wish to hold interviews on-campus, our centrally located Careers Connect centre has interview rooms, a waiting area and reception facility for your candidates. Our staff are on hand throughout your visit to ensure everything runs smoothly.

We also have opportunities to take part in departmental careers days, events, lectures and employability sessions. Get in touch to discuss your recruitment strategy; employment.service@shu.ac.uk or call on 0114 225 3433.
